An interesting match

I was rushing home from college . We use to stay in college till late evening but i had to run away today hearing that India will be batting first . Somesh(my sincere friend) too was feeling tired which was another positive thing since Somesh would make me stay in college if he did. Fortunately Sabareesh (my friend and neighbor) was there and as usual I got a ride in his bike(pulsar!!) . My house is 15 kms away from college but Sabareesh a classical Racer made me reach home in 15 minutes inspite of the traffic.
When I entered home my mom was staring at me. She probably understood the reason of me coming so early!! I laid down on the bed switching on my T.V . The score read 53/1 . I was happy since Sachin was standing there . Interestingly he had scored 36 runs off just 27 balls . I decided he would make a century . The South African bowlers were really pitiable since they could do nothing as Sachin was smashing hard . On the other end Karthik the tiny man hit some splendid sixes . The crowd roared.

As things went out of control South African Captain came to bowl . He was smashed away for boundaries by the master blaster making him expensive ! Vander MerWe ( Comedy piece ) was showing signs of hatred as the balls reached the fence . In the meantime Karthik fell prey to a slow ball . But Sachin was continuing the run feast.Dale steyn , unable to control the run flow , started irritating Sachin but Sachin answered with a smile . Steyn was smashed to consecutive boundaries in the next over.

A mischievous fan threw something into the ground aiming at Steyn due to which the play was suspended for sometime , paving way for some ads!! Yosuf the big hitter was sent in and the batting powerplay was taken at the right time . IT was used effectively (63 runs) and Sachin was heading towards his double century in style. Yosuf departed after making some stunning blows.The score read 300-3!!

As expected the skipper walked in .Now Sachin punished all the bowlers . On seeing such a wonderful innings ,the inspired captain too started to hit some big shots and the score hiked like the petrol price . In the last over the master reached his double century .Indian score crossed 400 for the third time , thanks to Sachin , the God of Cricket!

SENSITIVE ARTIFICIAL LISTENERS

At present we interact with computers through voice using microphones and other auditor device . But the drawback is that its a kind of monotonous. What if the computer reply to what we speak like a friend ??? This idea is made true by the SENSITIVE ARTIFICIAL LISTENERS developed by an international team including Queen's university,Belfast .
Humans do not only communicate through words .90% of the communication is nonverbal . But computers on the other hand can recognize only crystal clear commands. Using a unique blend of science, ethics, psychology and linguistics, scientists are attempting to overcome this obstacle too. SEMAINE (Sustained Emotionally colored Machine-human Interaction using Nonverbal Expression) is a project undertaken by an international group of technologists led by DFKI, the German centre for research on Artificial Intelligence and including Imperial College, London, the University of Paris, the University of Twente in Holland, Queen’s University, Belfast and the Technical University of Munich. The team, aims to create a Sensitive Artificial Listener (SAL) system, which will perceive a human user’s facial expression, gaze, and voice while interacting with him or her. The system will alter its own tone, behavior and actions according to the non-verbal stimulus it receives (and actually perceives) from the user. For the first time in history, this project to create a machine-human interface system is using fields as diverse as psychology, linguistics and ethics at every step of its endeavor.

The events that have been taking place in Andhra for the past few months show the inefficiency of the politicians . The government is unable to take any strong decision and this has resulted in confusion and problems . Even the political leaders in Andhra are not able to take any decision. The worst part of the issue is that students have engaged themselves in riots and protests. Students must not fall prey to politicians' selfishness. The British used the ' Divide and Rule' to separate us and the same policy should not be followed by the current Government!
